The 9th f/stop - Festival für Fotografie Leipzig starts with the opening of the main exhibition TRUST/vertrauen.
With more than 100 invited guests, the curators Nina Strand and Susan Bright (who is present live via Facetime), as well as the artists Viktoria Binschtok and Ingrid Eggen, we open the 9th f/stop – Festival für Fotografie Leipzig with the main exhibition TRUST/vertrauen.
After the welcoming addresses by Dr Skadi Jennicke, Mayor and Councillor for Culture of the City of Leipzig and Dr Manuel Frey, Director of the Cultural Foundation of the Free State of Saxony, Nina Strand guides the guests through the main exhibition.
The main exhibition TRUST/vertrauen of the 9th f/stop – Festival für Fotografie Leipzig, curated by Susan Bright (GB) and Nina Strand (N), features works by Hoda Afshar (IR/AUS), Viktoria Binschtok (D), Ingrid Eggen (N), Paul Mpagi Sepuya (USA), Laure Prouvost (F), Carmen Winant (USA) and Guanyu Xu (CHN).
At the same time, f/stop REFLECTIONS: Come Closer opens at the HGB. In the exhibition Come Closer, 21 students of the Leipzig Academy of Visual Arts reflect on the curatorial theme TRUST/vertrauen with their own works.
More than 20 Leipzig art and project spaces, galleries and museums are expanding the festival again this year with their own photographic contributions as f/stop SATELLITES throughout the city.
